The KwaZulu-Natal Region has agreed to host an ALT (3 bead) course from the 6th to the 10th of January 2016 The course will be residential in bunk rooms and offers a mix of group and individual tasks and challenges which include presentations, evaluations and assessments.
Any Scouter who holds a Warrant and a WoodBadge and who is recommended by their Regional Team Coordinator (RTC) Adult Support, or APC Adult Leader Training, is eligible to attend. It is desirable to have completed a Tutor Course as well.
If you have not completed a Tutor course you must ask to be sent pre-course reading material about Tutoring and be expected to answer some questions about it, before or during the course.
If you have not completed your Wood Badge, you will have to commit to undertaking that training and will have to complete it, before you can be considered for a Warrant as an Assistant Leader Trainer (ALT)
Dates: Wednesday 6th January to Sunday 10th January 2016
Times: From 16:30 on Wednesday to 13:30 on Sunday
Venue: Hillcrest Scout Grounds, Durban, KZN Province, South Africa
Cost: R1000 per delegate, excluding transport to Hillcrest

Transport to Hillcrest: To be arranged by participants. Directions will be provided on request.
Applications must be made on the attached application form, which must be completed in full and signed by the Regional Team Coordinator (RTC) Adult Support, or APC Adult Leader Training.
Applications will only be registered and a place saved, on receipt of payment and of the attached application form. A maximum of 24 participants will be accepted and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, on receipt of application form and course fees.

Personal Assignment Modules (PAMs), will be sent to applicants on registration of the application, with the confirmation of their application. These assignments must be completed prior to the course.
Dress: Arrive & leave in uniform – Scout casual dress, with scarves, for the rest of the course.
Bedding: You should bring your own bedding and it will be cool at night.
Stationary: Bring writing materials incl. notepaper, scissors, coloured markers, and glue stick – i.e. Pritt etc.
Computers: Bring a memory stick and if you have a laptop or pad, please bring it.

NB: Completion of this course and being assessed as competent in all the Outcomes, does not guarantee that you will be appointed as an Assistant Leader Trainer and the specified additional requirements will also have to be met.

The Gauteng Region has offered to host a LT course from 27th April to 2nd May (Public Holiday) 2016 at the Gilwell Scout Training Centre, Johannesburg, Gauteng. Participants must be Warranted ALTs or hold a valid ALT Charge to be eligible for this course.
Assistant Leader Trainer (ALT – 3 Bead) Course in 2016
The Gauteng Region has also offered to host an ALT course from 15th to 19th June 2016 at the Gilwell Scout Training Centre, Johannesburg, Gauteng. Participants must be Warranted Scouters, hold a WoodBadge and be recommended by their RTC Adult Support. It is desirable to have completed a Tutor Course as well.
