I learned to respect and love other people

This year we are celebrating 100 years of Cubbing worldwide. In South Africa we are celebrating through Group, District, Regional and National events. But, if we really want to know why Cubbing Rocks, who better to ask than the Cubs themselves….

We spoke to Londiwe Zuma (8) from the Springs Cub Pack in Gauteng.

Cubbing is fun because we go camping and I like the food.

SSA: What was your best experience with Cubs?
My best experience was to be able to help Akela.

SSA: What is the weirdest thing you ate outdoors?
We ate eyeballs and frogs legs outdoors.

SSA: What was the toughest challenge at Cubs?
The toughest challenge was to do knots.

SSA: What was the most amazing place you visited with Cubs?
We went on a hike in the mountains.

SSA: Can you name a few things you have learnt by being a Cub?
I learned how to do knots, respect and love other people.

SSA: What did you teach your mum that you learned at Cubs?
I taught my mum ho to tie knots.

SSA: What makes a good Akela?
A good a Akela is fun!

SSA: Why is your Akela special?
My Akela is special because she is kind.
