We learn to live without technology

Wow what a year this is! With lots of Cubbing fun, adventures and celebrations. Only 13 days to go before Akela 2016 kicks off! We spoke to Iviwe Ntonga (9) from the Commscouts Cub Pack in the Eastern Cape South.

Iviwe NtongaSSA: Why is Cubbing so much fun?
Cubbing is fun because we visit new places and experience new things.

SSA: What was your best experience with Cubs?
My best experience was cooking food without utensils.

SSA: What is the weirdest thing you ate outdoors?
It was sand.

To walk to Frankfort from King William’s Town.

The mountaineers caves.

SSA: Can you name a few things you have learnt by being a Cub?
I have learnt how to cook food, make the figure of 8 and how to help injured people in the woods.

SSA: What things have you done with Cubs to help people in your community?
We feed other people on Saturdays.

SSA: What did you teach your mum that you learned at Cubs?
I taught my mum how to cook with no utensils,

SSA: What makes a good Akela?
A good Akela is patient, encouraging and willing to help at all times.

SSA: Why is your Akela special?
My Akela uses a wheelchair and does everything for us and sacrifices his time for us.

Cubbing Rocks because … we experience new things, enjoy and also learn to live without technology.
