Help us bring Safe from Harm training to our rural communities.
The 1st of December or #GivingTuesday marks a global day of unity and giving to causes that are close to our hearts. Nothing is more important to us than the safety of our members and the skills and knowledge our adult leaders possess to keep our children Safe from Harm. A small monetary gift on #GivingTuesday can mean the conversion of our Safe from Harm training to a distance learning course easily accessible to over 6000 adult volunteers nationwide.
As a volunteer-led organisation our programmes and the implementation thereof depend on our adult volunteers. We recognise the need to ensure that our adults are supported, educated and possess the skills and resources required to provide a quality service to the children and youth we serve.
Adult Leaders receive comprehensive training in the Scout method, the youth programmes and the tailor-made SA Safe from Harm curriculum. The Safe from Harm course was recently updated to incorporate the latest WOSM Safe from Harm content and SA legislation.
To make this training accessible to all, we need to package it in a distance learning format including a digital online version, as well as hardcopies in vernacular languages for rural “unconnected” communities. Help us convert our Safe from Harm course to a distance learning format so we can help our Adult Leaders do what they do best!
Share our campaign with your contacts so together we can make this happen! Find it on the Scout Donation Platform here. #TogetherWeCan #GivingTuesday!
