We are excited to meet face to face at the 2023 Lekgotla taking place at BP Camp in KZN from Friday 22 September to Sunday 24 September 2023! This year’s theme is “Let’s Grow Together!”
After years of virtual Lekgotla’s, the national partnership conference for SCOUTS South Africa can now be held face to face once more with the support of the Sibaya Community Trust and Nangu Thina.
Who can attend?
The Lekgotla will give all Scout Group representatives the opportunity to meet and interact with representatives of Scout Groups from around the country, and to have their say on various priority areas that will inform the strategy of the Movement going forward.
Due to venue limitations, we can only accommodate one representative per Scout Group at this time, preferably the Scout Group Leader. Representatives from any Scout Group who has signed their Social Partnership Agreement (SPA), and is in good standing, may attend.
Accommodation & transport
SCOUTS South Africa has secured funding to provide meals for the weekend, but attendees will be required to pay for their accommodation and their own travel costs to the venue. Limited accommodation is available at BP Camp – either shared dormitory accommodation or camping. The host committee will provide a list of local B&B accommodation options, for delegates who wish to make alternate arrangements.
We will be asking the Regions to coordinate travel to the venue, but some shuttle services from local airports and bus terminals in Durban will be provided. The intention is for people to arrive on the 22nd of September and depart in the afternoon of the 24th of September. Delegates who need to drive far, can stay over an extra night and leave on the morning of the 25th September 2023 (Sunday evening self catering).
Programme
We will be sharing more information on the topics to be discussed prior to the event to provide an opportunity for those not able to attend to also contribute and participate.
