Support needed for flood victims in Western Cape

The Western Cape has been hit hard by the stormy weather. Many families and young people have lost their belongings and have been displaced from their homes. We are calling on our Scouting members and Scout families in the Western Cape to support a relief drive by dropping off donations for people in need at the Western Cape Regional Office.

The collected donations will then be distributed by the local NPO Mustadafin Foundation within the affected communities. The organisation shares the Scouting ethos of service and upliftment, and works across the Western Cape to uplift destitute communities. They will ensure that our donations reach the people who need them to most.

When & where to drop off:

Items can be dropped off at 124 Belvedere Road from Monday 15 July 2024 to Friday 19 July 2024 between 9am – 3.30pm. We will not be able to accept any donations after Friday.

Items to donate can include:

  • Non-perishable foods: such as jars of hope, canned foods, bottled water, …
  • Personal hygiene items: such as toilet paper, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, wash cloths, towels, …
  • Nappies or baby formula
  • Blankets, beanies, socks, warm clothing, …
  • Pet food

Let’s rally and show that Scouts have a heart for those who need our support!
