We are calling on members, through their Group SGL’s, to nominate suitable people to represent the interests of Scout Groups on the Scout Board. Such individuals should be experienced SGL’s or have served in other senior Group leadership roles.
The Constitution of SCOUTS South Africa stipulates that registered Scout Groups that have signed an SPA can propose a member onto the Scout Board to represent the interests of Groups.
Nomination criteria to serve:
The Constitution of SCOUTS South Africa sets out the role and eligibility criteria for members of the Governing Board in article V sections 1 & 3.
In addition to these stipulations the Board requires that the persons nominated must meet the following criteria:
- Be a respected and recognised Scouting volunteer, with suitable experience at a Scout Group level.
- Have experience at a senior level in their respective field. Including but not limited to the following: Business, Information Technology, Law, Accounting, HR Management, Education and Marketing.
- Be prepared to actively participate in raising the financial resources required to ensure the adequate administration of the organisation.
- Be willing to commit the time required to attend all the meetings and to perform all functions that this senior position requires.
- Accept to be a public advocate for the organisation.

- Nominations close 20 April 2025.
- All registered Scout Groups in good standing within their Region can nominate.
