100 Jars of Hope for flood victims

Last week many people around the Western Cape lost their homes and belongings due to the relentless storms and floods. The Scouts at 4th Claremont jumped into action and made 100 jars of hope, which will provide 400 warm meals.

“Times like this show the power of a broad community coming together, leveraging youth-driven leadership to make a positive impact in the lives of people who are facing a significant crisis”, explains 4th Claremont Troop Scouter Peter Otzen.

The Jars of Hope were handed over to the local NPO “the Mustadafin Foundation” by the Western Cape Regional Commissioner Nimmy Abrahams. The NPO works in the communities affected and will ensure the donation reaches the people who need a warm meal during the cold winter weather.

The Western Cape Scout Region has put out a call for more donations that can be dropped off this week at the Regional Office between  8.30am and 3.30pm this week.
