Make your “thank you” meaningful

SCOUTS South Africa has many ways of thanking our volunteers – both formally and informally.

It is important to show gratitude to all our volunteers for their incredible energy, time and love for the programme and their generous spirit. Over the next few days we will focus on how this can be done. Let’s recognise and acknowledge their dedication and commitment to our Movement!
There are many ways to make your “thank you” even more meaningful:
  • One could personalise the recognition to each individual for their specific contribution.
  • Highlight the positive impact that they are having on the lives of all the Meerkats, Cubs, Scouts, Rovers, and adult volunteers they are interacting with in your community.
  • Express your gratitude sincerely.
  • Offer your support and encouragement to ensure your volunteers feel valued and can considered an integral part of the Group/District/Region.
  • Consider organising small events or ceremonies to publicly honour their services and achievements.
  • Get feedback on ways improvements can be made in your Group/District/Region, and where possible, try to introduce them.
  • Ensure inclusivity for all volunteers, no matter which role they hold in the Movement.
